I have tried other tuition centres before I signed up with Flo Tuition. They have two very obvious strengths as compared to the other tuition centres I have signed up with previously.
The first is that my tutor is really patient with her students and she will often go beyond the tuition time to make sure that everyone of us understands her lessons.

All of us have our fair share of bright students from top schools making headlines for their academic achievements. However, the story is always sweeter when a student from a “non-elite” school bucked the trend and achieves results that many could only dream of. Flo Tuition is proud that one of our students, Shane Leung, of Fairfield Methodist Secondary School, made it to the list of 2009 O levels Top Students.
Shane comes from a family of five, which consists of himself, younger brother, elder sister and his parents. He graduated from Henry Park Primary School in 2004 with an aggregate score of 199 for his PSLE. With these marks he entered into the normal academic course of Fairfield Methodist Secondary School in 2005. Taking a longer route did not deter Shane from striving for academic success. We had the chance of catching up with Shane for an interview about his success story.
Flo Tuition: Hi Shane, we are so proud of you. How do you feel about getting 6 A1s?
Shane Leung: It was just amazing. The feeling of success in front of my face took me by shock, truthfully. I never expect to get 6 A1s.
Flo Tuition: What are some of the difficulties or obstacles you have encountered? How did you overcome them?
Shane Leung: I was just worried and concerned over not being fully prepared for my O levels. The two subjects I would like to highlight are actually English and Humanities. These were subjects I struggled with in my sec 5 year, more so especially when I was firmly aware that that year was the deciding factor for my future. I then decided that it was important to concentrate on my English and to improve it, because English is an important language in our lives. So it was important that I had a good command of the English language and its use. I worked on the work given to ensure that command was established well enough. In turn I was able to interpret my humanities and the rest of my subjects in a more efficient manner that enabled me to work better.
Flo Tuition: What was the worst grade you have ever scored before joining Flo Tuition?
Shane Leung: I was scoring between a B3 and A2 grade in sec 3 and 4. I did not feel too satisfied with those results and wanted a grade higher. I actually did indeed score a U grade for my English when I was younger, in my secondary 1 and 2 days, which you could label as the worst English grade I ever scored.
Flo Tuition: What is so special or different about the Flo Tuition method that you feel have made a significant improvement to your English grade?
Shane Leung: The solid training and practices compiled from only the best schools of high standards posed a challenge to me, and improved my English. They also gave very useful advice; that is both personal and directed towards me, that benefited me plenty.
Flo Tuition: How did your tutor help you in your English?
Shane Leung: She encouraged me and gave me advice that was personal and befitted me best. She also provided top notch material and due to online tutoring, the environment was one I could work well in. She is always willing to go the distance with utmost dedication to ensuring that her student is given only the best in advice and material, whenever she is contacted at convenient times. She has provided good teachings and has never short-changed me. Calling her a tutor is akin to undermining her. She is more like a teacher and a mentor.
Flo Tuition: What are some of the special or useful techniques taught in Flo Tuition that had helped you in your examinations?
Shane Leung: Take note of every detail that is present in the passage or picture, which is in the case of Oral examinations. Every detail pieces together a more complete picture that assists one in understanding. Couple it with common sense and other bits of knowledge and the material given is interpreted in the most efficient manner to the best degree. That is one of the many advices that I received.
Flo Tuition: Why did you choose Flo Tuition over other tuition centres/ private tutors?
